Whereas, America's veterans are a national treasure who have risked their lives defending our magnificent country, which is why all patriotic Americans will honor their painful sacrifices on Memorial Day;

Whereas, the very government they have risked their lives defending has failed miserably in providing them with critical medical care – and as a result dozens if not hundreds of ailing American veterans are dying prematurely;

Whereas, it is Congress that is responsible for overseeing all federal agencies, including those charged with providing veterans' health care;

Whereas, as a patriotic citizen I believe it is a national disgrace to allow our courageous troops – who survived foreign enemies on the battlefield – to simply die here at home from neglect while awaiting medical treatment;

Therefore, I join with the Coalition to Salute America's Heroes in demanding my elected officials do everything in their power to end this crisis – quickly and permanently – and start treating our beloved veterans with the care, respect and honor they deserve.

Yes, I'm willing to do one more thing to help our ailing American veterans! I understand that not only are they not getting proper medical care, many aren’t getting the financial support they need from the government, either. As a result they are unable to pay for food, rent and other necessities and their families are suffering as a result.
